A Grass Roots Event to benefit Make Some Noise, and organized by friends/classmates/loved ones of our friend Timmy Gearty.
Please join us on Monday, August 5, 2019, for a celebration and remembrance of the life of Timmy Gearty at the beautiful Panther Valley Golf and Country Club.
"Timmy was a loving son and brother, a loyal friend, classmate and a force of life. He was well known for his sense of humor, energy, compassion and infectious smile. He attended local schools in his native Mendham and graduated Delbarton High School in 2016. He was captain of Delbarton’s bowling team, a member of the Ultimate frisbee team, manager of the varsity soccer team, gifted writer for Delta magazine, and tour guide for his beloved school. He was a junior and senior dean in his deanery, where he always demonstrated his strong sense of community and willingness to help younger Delbarton brothers. Timmy attended Boston College from 2016 to 2017 where he was involved with the Ultimate frisbee team and The Stylus of Boston College magazine. He studied abroad in Dublin in the summer of 2017.
His empathy for others while facing his own battle with rhabdomyosarcoma is a true inspiration. He was an avid supporter of The Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation, which was founded by one of his classmates while he himself was battling Ewing’s Sarcoma. The foundation raises life-saving research funds for pediatric cancers through sponsored and grass roots events. For his birthday, Timmy organized a Facebook fundraiser benefiting the foundation and encouraged donations to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he was treated. Timmy truly lived by Abbott Giles’ motto of “Putting the other guy first”.
We ask that you celebrate Timmy’s spirit and compassion by supporting the golf outing, the proceeds of which will go to The Make Some Noise foundation. We look forward to seeing you on Timmy’s Day of Green."
