Bradley is a 3-year-old boy who loves chocolate, DS video games, and is Sponge Bob's biggest fan! He has an older sister, Ashley, older brother, Elijah, and younger sister, Brittney. On January 16, 2010, at age two, Bradley went to the doctor with an ear infection. Two days later, he went back to the doctor with strep throat. By the weekend, he was still very sick and getting worse. On Sunday, January 24, his parents took him to the hospital where he had a cat scan that revealed a tumor in his brain. Bradley immediately went into surgery to remove the pressure in his head, and the surgeons were able to remove about half of the tumor. He had another surgery the following week to try to remove more of the tumor. On February 4th, 2010 Bradley was diagnosed with ependymoma grade 3. Ependymoma is a rare form of cancer of the central nervous system. Over six months, Bradley has had chemotherapy and four brain surgeries. On his fourth brain surgery, doctors got 90% of the tumor, but also discovered a small tumor behind his brain stem. He started proton therapy, similar to radiation, to try and get rid of the rest of the tumor. Bradley had another surgery to remove this other tumor behind his brain stem, and is on a long journey to relearn how to walk and talk, but he is making progress! Bradley and his family are trying to live a normal life in and out of hospitals, and helping Bradley continue the fight.
